Bills are typically mailed around December 15 each year.
The City tax rate is set after the Common Council approves the budget in late November.
Your bill also includes taxes from other jurisdictions such as the Middleton Cross Plains Area School District, Waunakee School District, MATC, Dane County, and the State of Wisconsin.
Payment Timeline
The City of Middleton (on behalf of the Dane County Treasurer) collects payments through January 31.
Pay in full, or
Pay the first installment (half the bill) by January 31.
On February 1, all unpaid bills are transferred to the Dane County Treasurer’s Office for collection.
Second installments and any outstanding balances are due to Dane County by July 31.
Late Payments
At least the first installment must be paid by January 31.
Missing this deadline cancels the installment option, and the full balance, plus a penalty, becomes due to Dane County.
