Recreation Programs
We provide educational opportunities to the community to promote a healthy and active lifestyle through recreational programming. Programs include a variety of indoor and outdoor recreational opportunities for all ages; including indoor and outdoor sports, enrichment classes, environmental events, health & fitness and more. We offer online and mail-in registration.

WALK-IN

You can register in person at the Parks & Recreation Office (7426 Hubbard Avenue) during our open office hours (see page 2).
A registration form must be completed and payment made at the time of registration. NO RESERVATIONS TAKEN OVER THE PHONE
REGISTRATION DEADLINE
Registration deadline for programs is 12:00 pm one week prior to the start of the program unless noted otherwise. Late registration and registration at the program will not be accepted.
REGISTER ONLINE OR IN-PERSON
We accept online and in-person registration only. Payment must be completed at the time of registration.
RESIDENT/NON-RESIDENT
Residents are those that reside within the City of Middleton or within the MCPASD boundaries. Those who do not live within the City of Middleton, but reside within the school district boundaries, must contact the Recreation Office prior to registering to manually set up their account and adjust their residency status. If you do not contact the office prior to registering, the system will charge you as a non-resident, and non-resident fees will not be refunded.
TRANSFERS
Transfer requests must be made by phone, e-mail or in person prior to the registration deadline in order to be considered.
REFUNDS
Partial refunds are available when the participant withdrawals more than 7 calendar days prior to the program. Refunds are subjected to a $5 withdrawal fee per participant, per program. Any refund requests made within 7 calendar days of the program and after the start of the program will NOT be honored. Full refunds will only be provided under the following circumstances: 1) The department cancels the program for a reason other than inclement weather or 2) The participant has a medical reason (Physician’s note is required). Credit card processing fees are NON-REFUNDABLE. Refunds will NOT be issued for unattended classes, weather-related cancellations, or holiday dates.
WAITLIST POLICY
Please add your name to the waitlist online if your desired class is full. The department will make every effort to accommodate those on the waiting list. If any openings become available, we will go to the waitlist to fill the class, notifying eligible individuals by e-mail.
Those interested in applying for financial assistance can find forms online and in our office. Please call us at 608-821-8360 during business hours.

AGE/GRADE REQUIREMENTS
A participant must meet the required age or grade by the first day of the program. All grade levels will be based on the current or upcoming school year. No accommodations/exceptions will be made.
ALLERGIES
Food allergens are present in the class environment and food allergy accommodations may not be possible. Please contact Recreation Supervisor, glamping@cityofmiddleton.us, with any questions prior to registering for the class as we do not always know ingredients/ recipes prior to the program.
AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT (ADA)
The City of Middleton Parks and Recreation complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) which prohibits discrimination in the services, programs, or facilities provided to individuals with disabilities. If you believe that, in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, special assistance may be required when participating in a program, using a facility or receiving a service, please call 608-821-8360.
CONCUSSION LAW
Due to the increase in concern for concussions in youth sports, there is now a Wisconsin Concussion Law. Our department requires all participants to review the Concussion Agreement and Information prior to registering for programs. Our participant safety is our number one concern.
CONDUCT
Participants are expected to exhibit appropriate behavior at all times. The following guidelines have been developed to make recreation department programs safe and enjoyable for all participants. Additional rules may be developed for particular programs/athletic leagues as deemed necessary by the staff. Participants shall:
- • Show respect to all participants, staff, and volunteers.
- • Refrain from using abusive, inappropriate, or foul language.
- • Refrain from threatening, causing bodily harm or inappropriately touching self, other participants, or staff
- • Show respect for equipment, supplies, and facilities.
- • Not possess any weapons. Any participant who fails to follow the above guidelines will lose their spot in the program without a refund. Future participation will not be allowed.
CREDIT CARDS
We accept Visa, Mastercard, and Discover. All in-person and online credit card payments are charged a non-refundable processing fee. This is charged by the processing company, not Middleton Parks & Recreation.
DRUGS/TOBACCO/VAPE/ALCOHOL
The use and/or possession of all tobacco products, vape products, drugs, or alcoholic beverages on premises owned by the Middleton Cross Plains Area School District and City of Middleton programming is prohibited.
LIABILITY
The Recreation Department does not provide hospital/medical insurance coverage for people participating in activities. MIN/MAX ENROLLMENT Middleton Recreation will determine the minimum number of participants needed to hold the program and reserves the right to cap enrollment when deemed necessary. If the required minimum is not met, the program will be canceled. Participants will be notified before the program start date.

PHOTO POLICY
For promotional purposes, we may photograph our activities and their participants. If you do not wish to be included in a photo, please indicate this to the instructor and/or photographer.
PROGRAM POSTPONEMENTS/INCLEMENT WEATHER
Every effort will be made to reschedule classes/programs/league games canceled due to weather. If it is not possible to provide a make-up time, refunds will not be available. If Middleton Cross Plains Area School District closes, no programs will be held at the schools. Programs run through our facilities will run, unless otherwise noted. Participants will receive a text alert (must be opted in) and e-mail if classes/programs are canceled.
