The City of Middleton is inviting residents to attend an upcoming Community Campus Planning Workshops on Thursday, October 10, 2019. The workshop represents an opportunity for Middleton residents to reimagine the City’s downtown through a hands-on exercises and small group discussions facilitated by urban planners and architects.
The drop-in sessions will be held from 11:30am to 1:30pm and again from 4:30pm to 6:30pm.
The interactive workshop will allow residents to explore:
• Building uses, exterior materials, and interior features;
• Building scale and massing;
• Streetscapes, green space and pedestrian features
• Project element placement
“We are really looking forward to this interactive planning and design workshop,” said Mike Davis, City Administrator. “Middleton residents have always been extremely thoughtful and creative – and they have a passion for the city they call home. We can’t wait to see the ideas they develop at these sessions.”
In Spring 2019, the City organized the Community Campus Committee to assess needs, develop options and provide recommendations to the City Plan Commission and the Common Council. Consisting of representatives from various stakeholder groups, the Committee plans to offer its recommendations by Winter 2019-20. The Community Campus Planning Workshops are the latest in a series of activities that have sought to engage and gather input from City residents.
The City has engaged consultants from Short Elliot and Hendrickson (SEH) and Eppstein Uhen Architects (EUA) to provide urban planning and conceptual design services and assist with community engagement.
