Lock your vehicles. Take the keys. Remove valuables.
With holiday shopping underway, the Middleton Police Department would like to remind everyone to please lock up your vehicles and keep valuable items and holiday gifts out of plain view if parking outside.
Agencies across Dane County, including Middleton Police, have already seen an increase in the number of thefts from motor vehicles and thefts of vehicles and we strongly encourage everyone to keep your vehicles and personal belongings secured. Many of the thefts involve unlocked vehicles with valuables left in plain view and could have easily been prevented if the vehicles were locked and valuables removed or hidden.
If you are the victim of a theft or if you see something that you think is suspicious, please report it to police immediately. You can call or text Middleton Police at 608-824-7300 for non-emergencies or call 911 if it is an in-progress emergency.
Thank you and have a Happy Thanksgiving!
