Snow Plowing in Middleton: A Community Effort to Keep Winter Safe

Winter in Middleton brings picturesque landscapes and, of course, snowplowing season. Behind the scenes, our dedicated snowplow crews are hard at work ensuring roads are safe and passable for everyone. But it’s a team effort, and every resident plays a role in making winter manageable.

Safety First: Clear Roads Start With You!

Snow plows are large, powerful machines with limited visibility. Stay at least 200 feet behind them—if you can’t see the driver, they can’t see you. Avoid passing plows; they often clear multiple lanes and need space to operate. Patience and caution keep everyone safe.

How Streets Get Cleared

Our snow plow teams follow a systematic approach. Main roads and emergency routes come first, ensuring critical access points remain clear. Residential streets follow, with cul-de-sacs and parking lots last. These prioritized routes ensure emergency services and commuters can navigate safely.

How You Can Help

Small actions by residents make a significant difference. Don’t park on the street during snow events—it speeds up road clearing. Shovel around fire hydrants for first responders and clear sidewalks promptly to keep pathways safe for pedestrians.

Driving Near Plows? Stay Smart

Plows make wide turns and kick up snow, which can limit visibility. Keep your distance, slow down on slick roads, and stay alert for sand or salt being spread.

Together, we can ensure Middleton stays safe and connected this winter. Let’s tackle the season as a community.
