Middleton Construction Update – August 22, 2025
Summer construction season continues! Here’s your weekly roundup of active, upcoming, and completed projects across the city:
NEW – Beltline / Highway 14 Bridge Repair
Concrete repairs are scheduled under the Beltline bridge (above University Ave) from August 25–28. One lane of Highway 14 will close in each direction intermittently. Expect minor delays and drive with caution.
Traffic Signal Upgrades – Century Ave & Allen Blvd
Pavement patching and new traffic signal installation are happening the week of August 25. Substantial completion remains on track for August 28. Peak-hour delays continue due to single-lane traffic—allow extra time or use alternate routes.
Parmenter Street Reconstruction (Century to Greenbriar)
Curb, gutter, and sidewalk installation is complete, with restoration and roadway lighting now underway. Project remains on schedule through mid-October. Closed to thru traffic; local access is maintained. No-parking restrictions remain in effect through October 5.
High Road Closure – Final Paving
High Road (Spring Hill Dr to Caneel Trail) will close during daytime hours August 27–28 for the final asphalt overlay. Nighttime access will be restored; emergency access will be maintained.
Traffic Signal Upgrades – HWY Q & HWY M
Final pavement patching and signal installation are scheduled for the week of August 25. Completion is anticipated by August 28. Expect temporary signals, changing traffic patterns, and minor delays.
Street Surface Program 2025
Milling wrapped up on August 21. Manhole adjustments and grading will follow the week of August 25, with paving beginning after Labor Day. Surface treatments (crack filling, chip sealing, sealing) are ongoing citywide—no on-street parking in active work areas. Traffic impacts are expected to be minimal.
No Parking Zones – Spring Hill, Lynn, Graber, High Rd
24/7 restrictions remain in place through mid-October to support detoured traffic from Parmenter construction.
Completed Projects
--Lakeview–Stonefield Sidewalk Replacement – Finished.
--Franklin Avenue Resurfacing – Finished before Good Neighbor Fest. Any reseeding of terraces will follow the parade.
