Thursday, June 6, at 6:00 pm Join the Middleton Public Library and the City of Middleton's Sustainability Committee for an ongoing series addressing one of our most pressing issues: sustainability. This event is designed to help Middleton residents understand the importance of living sustainably, the actions our city is taking, and, most importantly, how you can play a crucial role in this endeavor. City of Middleton Sustainability Coordinator Kelly Hilyard will highlight several successful City sustainability initiatives and offer suggestions for how residents can make our community more resilient. Hilyard has worked on sustainability and climate change issues for 30 years. She has approached them in different ways—through organic farming, landscape architecture, urban housing, and the green building industry. As clunky as it sometimes seems, local government can be an excellent catalyst for forging connections and collaborations that make a difference in the community.
