Statement from Mayor Emily Kuhn regarding
the Mt Horeb School District Emergency Situation

Today, our hearts are heavy as we mourn the tragic events that unfolded in the neighboring Mt Horeb school district. The school shooting that occurred at their middle school has shaken our community to its core.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the students, faculty, and families affected by this senseless act. In times like these, it is essential for us to come together in solidarity and support one another as we navigate through this difficult time. 

We are monitoring the situation closely and will provide any assistance necessary to help our neighbors heal and recover. 

As we grapple with the aftermath of this tragedy, let us also reflect on what we can do to prevent such events from happening in the future. We must prioritize the safety and well-being of our students and take action to address the underlying issues that contribute to acts of violence in our society.
