The City of Middleton Zoning Board of Appeals will hold public hearings and consider taking action on the following applications for variances:
1.
2157 Middleton Beach Rd, Parcel ID 070812402778: The owners, Jamie and Matt Flanigan, are requesting a variance from the maximum building height for a detached garage. The applicants are requesting approval to build a 17 ft. 2 in. tall garage measuring 778 sqft. in area. Section 10.22(4)(g) requires a detached garage on an R1-zoned lot not to exceed a maximum height of 15 ft. The garage and new home meet all other setback and lot coverage requirements.
2.
5743 Lincoln St, Parcel ID 070906352636: The owner, Amy Arntsen, is requesting a variance from the minimum side setback for an addition to the existing residence. The applicant is requesting to build an 18 ft. x 28 ft. addition to be located 1 ft. (2 ft. measured to the wall) from the right side lot line. The existing house measures 3 ft. (4 ft. to the wall) from the right lot line. Sections 10.24(4) and 10.136(6)(a) require a minimum side setback of 7 ft. 2 in. for this narrow, R1-zoned lot. The proposed addition meets all other setback and lot coverage requirements.
During the hearing, all interested persons will have an opportunity to speak or register their opinion. The Zoning Board of Appeals may take action following the hearing.
