Building Inspection Updates - COVID-19 Changes

Building Inspection Updates:        3/18/2020

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all communication to Building Inspection staff shall be by email at or by phone at 608-821-8370. Someone will respond as quickly as possible but please be understanding that there may be some delays in service delivery as we all work through this together.

Inspection staff will not be available to meet in-person at City Hall.

Field inspections will be evaluated as requests come in and conducted when it is determined it is both essential, and safe for both staff and our customers. Certain inspections may be postponed to a future date based on staff availability. All rough & final inspection (Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC & Framing) will be done at the same time and when all contractors are off site.

For permit applications and/or Plan Review applications/plans, we ask that they be e-mailed to us, and if not please call 608-821-8370 for assistance.

Plan review and permitting is continuing with staff working either in office or from home.

Once everything is approved an e-mail will be sent with payment information. Payment can be made with credit card over the phone or a check may be placed in the utility drop box located in the parking lot of Middleton Library 7425 Hubbard Ave. Once the permit fees are paid, we will e-mail all permit paper work back to you & for you to print and have on job site.
