[ARCHIVED] Storm Clean Up Information

Crews from both our Forestry and Streets departments are working to clean up storm damage caused by last night's windstorm. We are focusing on removing downed trees and limbs that are blocking streets & sidewalks, including public street trees that fell onto private property. Once the streets and sidewalks are cleared, we will begin citywide curbside brush pickup – as an exception to the normal monthly collection schedule.

Residents are reminded that if they hire a contractor to cut trees and brush that they must make arrangements with that contractor to remove the brush. Material cut by contractors will not be collected.

City residents may drop off brush, branches, limbs (up to 4” in diameter) and stumps (clean) at the Metropolitan Refuse District (MRD) compost site, 5211 CTH Q, seasonally from April 1 through November 30. Hours of operation for the MRD compost facility are available on the City’s web site.

To report terrace tree damage, blocked sidewalks/streets and brush pickup requests, please submit through our website or call the Public Works Department at 608-821-8370.
