Payment Information
The Court processes payments for MUNICIPAL ORDINANCE and TRAFFIC CITATIONS.
FAILURE TO PAY: Failure to make payment or request a poverty hearing within 60 days of your court date may result in: the suspension of your driving privileges for up to one year; having the outstanding amount certified through the Department of Revenue; having the matter referred to a collection agency; or being incarcerated in the county jail for a period of up to 90 days. If you are unable to pay the fine within the 60 days, you must contact the Municipal Court to arrange a payment plan or request a poverty hearing.
To request a poverty (indigency) hearing, you may use this form. Submit the form to the court by mail, in person, or by email.

Payment Methods:
Cash – Please do not send cash in the mail.
Check or Money Order – Checks or money orders should be made payable to the “City of Middleton”. If you mail in payment, be sure to include your citation number.
Credit or Debit Card – Use this link to make a payment online. Please be aware a convenience fee will be applied. If you need assistance, please contact the court at 608-824-7370.
Submit Payments:
In Person - Payments can be made in person at the Court Clerk’s office located at 7341 Donna Drive in Middleton during normal business hours: Monday thru Friday from 7:45am to 4:30pm, except observed holidays. Outside of normal business hours, you may deposit payment in the drop box located in the main entrance. Envelopes are provided above the drop box for your convenience.
By Mail - Please DO NOT SEND CASH. Make checks or money orders payable to “City of Middleton” and include your citation number. Mail payments to:

You must pay fees associated with parking citations directly to the Middleton Police Department.
If you failed to pay your municipal or traffic citation fee by the due date, your debt may be referred to the State of Wisconsin Department of Revenue (DOR) through the State Debt Collection (SDC) Initiative. If your debt was referred, the Middleton Municipal Court is no longer able to accept payment. You must contact DOR directly to make/arrange payment.

If your debt has been referred to the State Department of Revenue’s Tax Refund Interception Program (TRIP), you must contact TRIP to make/arrange payment. The court can no longer accept payment.

If you failed to pay your municipal/traffic citation fee by the due date, your debt may be referred to the H.E. Stark Collection Agency. You must contact the agency to arrange payment. The Municipal Court can no longer accept payment.
